What you want to do is apply some on both palms, spread it across your fingers too. Then rub it in. Use a circular motion if you want to make it harder.

put a bit in the palm of your hands, the clap them real fast till it looks like its being beaten and all floaty, then apply it from your crown towards the front of your head and then down the back
