itunes 10 was released as well (though apple said it'd be available today it isn't for me). $0.99 tv rentals for fox and abc shows, some "social networking" thing called ping, and it's probably going to be a 500MB download this time around.

shuffle with screen is a good idea, that and the lack of space was the reason I always disliked shuffles.

Ya new nano is multi touch which is why I shall never buy it, I like to just take it off hold and press next without taking it out of my pocket. So.. I can't see that happening with the new nano.

my itunes isn't finding any new updates, i did a search online though and it looks like they've screwed up the UI in itunes 10 so i will avoid updating when it starts asking me.

I don't get how they'll let Windows XP people have iTunes 10... but not their own OS X 10.4 peeps. :/

Neil, I downloaded it direct from Apple and the only UI differences are a lack of color and tweaked volume slider, so not sure what you've been hearing.

Gary, guessing it has something to do with differing architecture, most programs that run on XP run on Vista and 7 but there are many nowadays that don't run on 10.4 but do on 10.5 and 10.6. Also the majority of computers in the world run XP so they'd be cutting out a substantial market if they ended support for it. Are you running 10.4? Really ought to upgrade anyways.

I will be soon Justin, like even if I wanted an iPhone, I wouldn't be able to activate or sync it cause you need 10.5 or above.

usually i wouldnt bother updating, i keep putting it off for weeks, but i did it to have a look

The last time i updated itunes it helpfully deleted all my playlists and i had to spend a whole evening re-sorting 2tb worth of tunes into their relevant categories again so i won't be updating this one for a while.
If it aint broke don't fix it....

It's not the music itself that gets lost it's the way i have my playlists setup, i have a separate list for different genres, cataloged and new stuff to listen to etc, for some reason the last time i updated it deleted all the playlists and left me with just the standard music list.

Can you not backup the library structure? I know you can on Windows.

Then you can buy a Shuffle (and save money) because you obviously don't need the touch screen (or any interface) if you're keeping it in your pocket.
