Hello I'm a PS3 owner and have been one for about Two and a half years now and have been a happily the owner of such a console which I bought when I had my seventeenth birthday.

My mother probably correctly and only wanted to make sure I only played games that she thought were at a suitable age rating for me (no 18's) so made herself a master account and me a sub account so that she could also make sure that she could keep an eye on the amount of money I spent on the PSN.

Now it is Two and a half years later I am having a rather large problem due to me not being able to use my account with my own banking details so I cannot buy and use my own account as I please on the PSN. As every time I wish to purchase anything I have to go through my mother's account and while normally this would not be a problem seeing as I was living with her.

From next semester I shall not be living with my mother due to me becoming a university student and moving out due to distance from the university and so not being able to place my settings on my account has gone from a minor irritant to an annoyance.

Now I was wondering if I went to the PSN help line they might be able to wave a magic admin wand and just change my account from a sub to a master but that is not possible due to their rights and privileges.

Their only solution they could think of would be for me to make a new account and make that a master but also lose all my save games, downloadable content and trophies representing no small investment of money and time in probably over £100 and hundreds of hours of game play for levelling up characters and such.

So my question is there must be a better way right?

it seems retarded that they can't just change the account permissions, i'd complain until they do something about that

in the meantime though, why not just ask your mum for her account password?
