Thinking of upgrading from my LG chocolate

I bought an LG chocolate about 3 years ago and now im thinking of making the big upgrade. The battery chip broke and it keeps falling off and for the past couple of months ive been using ductape to piece everything together. Aside from that it still functions perfectly but i still get made fun of by friends and/or family for having an ugly ass phone.

So now I'm thinking of making an upgrade and was hoping you tech savy forumers could make some suggestions. I'm dont know much about phones but what I DO know is that the phone you recommend MUST include the following features:

Durability/transportation
Long Life Line
superior voice reception
Ability to take pictures of people without making a loud click noise (secret picture taking ability)
text massage

my phone has an option to mute the camera click sound (samsung hype). one of the things i love about it hahaha. it's a really good basic phone and the battery life on mine is great. although i doubt it's what you're looking for

I thought you could turn off the camera click on most phones by putting it on silent! I've never had a phone that you couldn't do it with

Anyway - everyone seems to be raving about HTC phones or Blackberries at the moment.

nah, with all the phones i've had even on silent it makes a noise when you snap a picture. i was so happy when i went into my camera settings on my phone and it had an option to have no sound when you clicked the camera button

what service provider are you with?

i've been phone hunting for a bit... leaning towards the Android market.
one of the phones with Rogers that was recommended to me (android phone) is the sony ericsson xperia x10 has an amazing camera (8.1 mps), though not sure about if you can turn off the sound.

my next phone will probably be the HTC desire - I need to get rid of my 1.5 yr old Keybo and move into the smartphone world, lol.

just for the record, you can turn off most cam shutter sounds in the camera settings

You're so snide gary! What would be so bad about the ibtl group? Its pretty funny really, and you can leave / join it whenever you want.

Correction: the only reason you ruled it out is they don't really come for £20 a month which is what you wanted.

from the looks of things nadia it doesn't look like you want a smartphone so UNLIKE EVERYONE ELSE HERE i won't suggest you one. you said you want a plan with rogers, does that mean you're going to change carriers?
