The FSA said meat from the offspring of a cloned cow entered the UK food chain
A second case of meat from the offspring of a cloned cow entering the UK's food chain has emerged.

The Food Standards Agency said it came to light as it investigated an earlier case of meat from a Highlands farm bull grown from the embryo of a cloned cow being sold to consumers.

I wasn't aware that animal cloning was at a production stage, but as long as the meat is safe (which, I presume, is the point of cloning the animals) then I don't see any problem with it.

We actually wouldn't know if they did have a health risk because loads of people die every day, how do we know their cause of death was not from this?

we've been eating genetically modified fruit and veggies for years so what's the difference. and besides, they wouldn't clone a shit quality animal because that would just be a waste (I know someone already said that but I can't multiquote on iPhone).

No, that was never true.

I wouldn't put it past the manufacturers using growth hormones on the chickens though, but afaik the use of growth hormones is banned in europe.

I know that in Canada and the States that they give fetal chickens a growth hormone so that they can produce the meat of a 4 year old chicken in as little as 2 weeks. they're freaky to look at, their bodies are so swollen and the "meat" is actually grey sometimes.

Aye they use growth hormones on cows in the US as well, use of BGH is banned in europe though.

we watched a documentary about KFC in religion class (hi, I'm a catholic school girl) and had to discuss whether it's morally right/wrong to gen modify. I dunno, the stuff they showed was pretty legit looking but the Big Crunch sandwhiches look and taste like real chicken to me. popcorn chicken and the # piece buckets are a diff story though.

I've pretty much forgotten a lot about what I was taught about GM but I remember writing a long essay on it and what I found out was really intriguing, i'm for it, there are risks though. Like what happens if a commercially grown GM plant (which is modified to grow faster or be resistant to a disease) fertilises a wild variant that grows as a weed or something then.. yeah.. iunno where im going with this anymore

You may just be eating shit quality chicken, a lot of chicken is mixed with water to make it's weight go up but all that water just comes out when cooked and the chicken tastes like shit.
