Messenger for Mac 8 Beta

It was released on 24/03/10 and finally brings support for A/V conferencing between Mac OS X users and Windows Live Messenger 2009 users.

Known Issues:

• Display pictures do not display in the conversation window
• You cannot send files to your contacts
• You cannot make Audio/Video calls on some network configurations
• Some custom emoticons do not display

I'll have a look in a bit when i go upstairs as my mac battery died so it has to be plugged in all the time.

It's ridiculous really that they've only just got A/V support lol .

it's also a bit disappointing that there hasn't been a redesign

Too little too late, the rest of the mac using world has moved on, give it up Microsoft and move on.....

It's kind of ridiculous that they're only just adding A/V support. Lack of a decent MSN client was one of my main annoyances when I used a Mac.

i use messenger mac and have never had any problems as i don't really use a/v, i use skype if i ever wanna do that

i think most people use adium or pidgin.

adium can fuck right off, no way would i put that ugly icon on my dock

What are they supposed to use for IM? WLM is still bloody popular and I use it all the time, albeit some of my friends have just migrated to using that piece of shit facebook chat.

Same. Which is good cause this new Beta doesn't work on 10.4.

you can change the little (ugly) duck...

i rarely use msn anymore but when i do i use messenger for mac but i'm on tiger and this beta doesn't work with 10.4 like gary said
