Just played through the first 2 hours since I've had it and it's by no means ground breaking but compartively to 12 this is alot more close to what i wanted ;D

Most of the main FF titles are worth playing. FF7 is always a good place to start or get the remake for FF4 if you have a DS.

Picked up FF13 at midnight last night and played till I passed out and woke up and played some more up till now, great game so far. Everything is done beautifully so far... Especially the new ATB system seeing how fluid everything goes in combat is quite awesome to watch.

If you have a PS3 you can download VIII (and VII) I don't remember the actual price, but it's not that expensive.

It stays linear for quite a while sadly but I agree with you Kev in that it is an absolutely gorgeous game! which has no installation which I find quite weird if you ask me ;D as I am probably at least in my double digit hours now around 10-15 hours and it's still linear

Reviews say it doesn't open up from being linear until Chapter 10 out of 13. I will probably still enjoy it whenever I get around to buying it.

I'm currently in Chapter 6. I was worried after hearing it's linearity but so far it's been a blast.

IX's good if you enjoyed the classic FF's prior to VII and VIII since it took a return to a medieval setting and light-heartedness. X's alright, same with X-2 if you can overlook the Charlie Angel's theme it has. XII's either a love or hate from many, it's very political and the slow pacing along with the turn-based battle change to Gambits can be a turn-off.

i don't believe there was any unless I am mistaken but I wouldn't of minded the option to install to speed up the load times slightly as even 5-8 second loads are crushingly slow for me >.>

Yea, if it were PS3 exclusive, it would've had that most likely along with the other content that was removed.

Good to hear. Funny though, that's when I finally got to understanding paradigms after it beating me thrice. I'm in Chapter 9 (I think?) where Vanille and Sazh are trying to reunite with the others.

Pcsx2, works well with a good list of games you can play. You'll need a beasty computer though, I just tried playing FFX and got about 30fps so it ran pretty crappy.
