I've heard of viewsonic, don't know anything other than the name though.
that monitor is VGA only, might be a reason not to buy
So I'm looking for a new monitor, only really looked on eBuyer so far. Does anyone know any other good places to look?
At the moment, I have my eye on this one:

I'm not familiar with the brand, but the price is good, specs seem decent, and it has a 3 year warranty. Anyone owned a monitor from Viewsonic before? Any reason I shouldn't go for this monitor?

VGA only doesn't really bother me, both the monitors I'm using now are VGA only, easy enough to just use an adaptor, and they cost peanuts.
I just purchased an LG W2242S from eBuyer:

Easily the best monitor I've ever owned.

I presume that the difference in resolution is more to do with the ratio than the Viewsonic actually being a significantly higher res?
When you get either one, you'll want to fiddle with VLC or whatever you use and set up SD up scaling otherwise the pictures will look crap in full screen.
And did those feet in ancient time.
Walk upon Englands mountains green:
And was the holy Lamb of God,
On Englands pleasant pastures seen!
The Viewsonic is Full HD. It's the same resolution as my 24".
so got the viewsonic one in the end.
any idea how to set up upscaling in MPC gavin?
edit: nvm done it

i got this at christmas, due to its resolution and it was cheap for what it offered, it's nice and bright though i wish the colours were more closer to that of my macbook
edit: also its a matte screen which i wasn't really expecting, but i wanted as glossy screens are so annoying
