      IBTL takes your personal information very seriously and we have procedures in place to ensure that this is safeguarded.

      IBTL is governed by English Law due to where we are hosted.

      Our privacy policy and site terms are in place to protect both our users and ourselves, may we remind users to also keep themselves up to date with our site rules.

      IBTL will not take liability for anything posted by a user on the site, we will however strive to enforce our site rules.

      1. WHAT INFORMATION DO YOU COLLECT?
      We collect information from you when you register on our site, donate to us, subscribe to our newsletter, respond to a survey, fill out a form or post on the site.

      When registering on our site, as appropriate, you may be asked to enter your: name, e-mail address, date of birth, gender or location. It is a condition of registering that you provide an accurate e-mail address, date of birth and gender. It is also your responsibility to keep your email address up to date.

      It is optional to fill in profile fields with things such as hobbies and interests and is also up to the user to remove these should they no longer wish to have them displayed on the site - users can also select to hide their D.O.B and e-mail address to other registered users.

      Everytime a user posts on the forum their IP address is logged (only site staff can view this) for security purposes. Staff also have the option to post 'user notes' about a users behavior and any warnings they may have had.

      A users history in terms of warnings, bans and naughty membership are logged.

      Any actions a user takes inside of a thread (Editing post, deleting posts and so on) are also logged for staff viewing.

      You may, however, visit our site anonymously albeit with limited functionality therefore not registering.

      Google, as a third party vendor, uses cookies to serve ads on our site.
      Google's use of the DART cookie enables it to serve ads to our users based on their visit to our site and other sites on the Internet.

      Users may opt out of the use of the DART cookie by visiting the Google ad and content network privacy policy.

      Google also gather information such as the browser used, your screen resolution - please see the Google Analytic privacy policy for further information.

      Cookies are also used to log you into the site and to store your 'skin' selection.



      2. HOW DO YOU USE MY INFORMATION?
      Any of the information we collect from you may be used in one of the following ways:

      To personalise your experience
      (your information helps us to better respond to your individual needs)

      To improve our website
      (we continually strive to improve our website offerings based on the information and feedback we receive from you)

      To improve user support and moderation
      (your information helps us to more effectively respond to your forum requests and support needs)

      To process plus/donation transaction
      Donations and Plus+ are dealt with by the third party company 'Paypal' - please ensure you read their own privacy policy. The only information we recieve from a Plus+ transaction is your User ID, Email address and Name.

      To administer a contest, promotion, survey or other site feature

      To send periodic emails
      The email address you provide for registering, may be used to send you information and updates regarding the forum

      Note: If at any time you would like to unsubscribe from receiving future emails you can do so by going to your Dashboard, selecting Edit Options and unticking the box that says "Receive E-Mail from Administrators"..



      3. HOW IS MY INFORMATION KEPT SECURE?
      We implement a variety of security measures to maintain the safety of your personal information when you donate to us or access your personal information.

      Our host (Global Gold) implement a variety of security methods to ensure that our data is kept secure - However due to the nature of the internet we can not 100% guarantee the security of your registration data.

      None of your registration information is viewable by other registered users unless you select it to be. This information is only accessible to site staff for moderation purposes and is against staff policy to use it for any other reason.

      IP addresses, User Notes and Warning History is only viewable to site staff and is kept confidential at all times.

      Passwords are encrypted in our database and no staff member can view these.

      All of our donations are handled by Paypal through their secure servers.Please refer to the privacy policy of Paypal, only administrators have access to details regarding plus transactions and this information will remain secure and confidential, we do NOT have details with regards to card and payment details.



      4. DO YOU USE COOKIES?
      Yes (Cookies are small files that a site or its service provider transfers to your computers hard drive through your Web browser (if you allow) that enables the sites or service providers systems to recognize your browser and capture and remember certain information.

      We use cookies to help us remember and save your preferences and login details for future visits, and keep track of advertisements and compile aggregate data about site traffic and site interaction so that we can offer better site experiences and tools in the future. We may contract with third-party service providers to assist us in better understanding our site visitors. These service providers are not permitted to use the information collected on our behalf except to help us conduct and improve our site.

      We currently use google analytics to collate visitor data.

      If you prefer, you can choose to have your computer warn you each time a cookie is being sent, or you can choose to turn off all cookies via your browser settings. Like most websites, if you turn your cookies off, some of our services may not function properly.



      5. DO YOU PASS MY INFORMATION TO THIRD PARTIES?
      We do not sell, trade, or otherwise transfer to outside parties your personally identifiable information. We may release your information when we believe release is appropriate to comply with the law, enforce our site policies, or protect ours or others rights, property, or safety.

      However, non-personally identifiable visitor information may be provided to other parties for marketing, advertising, or other uses.



      6. THIRD PARTY LINKS
      Occasionally, at our discretion, we may include or offer third party products or services on our website, similarly our users may also post third party links. These third party sites have separate and independent privacy policies. We therefore have no responsibility or liability for the content and activities of these linked sites. Nonetheless, we seek to protect the integrity of our site and welcome any feedback about these sites.



      7. COPPA
      We are in compliance with the requirements of COPPA (Childrens Online Privacy Protection Act), we do not collect any information from anyone under 13 years of age.

      As of Friday 26th March 2010, IBTL is only open for New Registrations for those that are over the age of 16.



      8. SITE ONLINE POLICY ONLY
      This online privacy policy applies only to information collected through our website and not to information collected offline or on our social networking pages (These sites all have their own policies).



      9. FORUM RULES
      Please ensure you read our full site rules as well as this privacy policy.



      10. YOUR CONSENT AND CHANGES
      By continuing to use our site you agree that any of our policies may change at any time without notice. It is the users responsibility to keep check of these pages. Any major changes will be announced via our Forum News section by an administrator and it is the users responsibility to check these.

      If we decide to change our privacy policy, terms and conditions or site rules we will post those changes on this page, and the 'last updated date' should change.

      We also reserve the right to move our hosting - this may mean moving the site and all such data to being hosted in the USA or other depending on what we feel is best for the site.

      We also reserve the right to remove or edit any post/profile/etc. that breaches our rules.



      11. ACCOUNT DELETION AND ACCESSING INFORMATION

      It is IBTL policy not to 'delete' accounts - accounts will only be deleted under exceptional circumstances.

      We never fully delete a users posts, once posted on site these posts become under 'ownership' of IBTL; however - posts reflect the view of the user only and IBTL takes no liability for anything posted by our users.

      It should be noted that although IBTL takes ownership of posts - IBTL have no right to re-use anything posted by a user (Images and so on) without permission unless explicitly stated otherwise (eg competition entries)

      Deleting accounts leaves holes in the database.

      In accordance with the Data Protection Act we will remove any information we hold about you (Date of Birth, Email Address and so on) from your account and also change your password and perm ban the account - thus disabling it. Posts however will remain until particular threads or forums are archived. We only ever 'soft' delete our posts (Meaning they are still accessible to staff)

      We do not ban accounts under request - bans will only be issued under exceptional circumstances. If you need a temp ban (eg to get some work done) we have a group which will deny you access to the forums but wont show you as publicly banned.

      If you wish to view the information held about you (Such as all your registration information, IP addresses stored and user notes) then you may make a request with a site admin. The cost of this will be £10 (Or equivalent) and requests can take up to 14 days to process.
