We would also like to point out that IBTL is an ad-supported site, by using the site you agree that you will not block the advertisements or other aspects of the site or encourage other users to do so.
In short, we aim for IBTL to be an enjoyable experience for all and so have rules in place to help ensure this.
1. INAPPROPRIATE CONTENT
1. Content of an excessively inappropriate nature is not permitted. This includes but is not limited to content containing racism, discrimination (sexuality, age, religion), discussion of an overtly sexual nature and posting obscene images or links to sites that contain excessively inappropriate content. Unacceptable images include, but are not limited to, images displaying nudity or images of extreme violence/gore.
2. Discussion of illegal drugs/illicit substances is not permitted anywhere on the forum other than the adult forum where impersonal references may be suitable. Any in-depth discussion or advice regarding the use or misuse of illegal substances will be removed.
3. Moderators reserve the right to issue punishment and to remove content that they deem libelous, explicit, illegal or infringing upon the intellectual property of another.
4. Discussion of illegal material is not tolerated. This includes providing advice or links which may in some way lead to the illegal acquirement of copyrighted material such as movies, music, software and the discussion of serial numbers/cracks.
2. SWEARING AND THE FORUM FILTER
1. While swearing is not encouraged on the forum it is permitted to do so if it is embedded in a quality, legitimate post and isn’t of a highly offensive, discriminative or defamatory nature. Excessive use of profanity in posts will result in removal and further action may be taken depending on the severity of the offence.
2. The forum filter censors words, expressions or slurs which forum management have deemed to be of a highly offensive nature. Members who avoid the filter will have their post(s) removed and further action may be taken.
3. Swearing is not permitted inside of thread titles, blog titles or article titles.
3. HARRASMENT, DEFAMATION
1. Our aim is to make interaction via our forums a positive experience for users and for this reason any form of bullying, harassment or defamation will not be permitted. Do not try and provoke other users at any point.
2. Please refer to Rule 1.1 and Rule 2.1 with regard harassment and defamation.
4. PERSONAL INFORMATION & PHOTOS
1. Users are permitted to share their email addresses, social networking links and instant messenger contact details publicly at their own discretion. For your own safety the sharing of residential addresses, telephone numbers or any other personally identifying information should not be shared in the public domain. Users may share personal information via the private messaging system at their own discretion and we do not accept liability for loss or misuse of this information.
2. Members are not permitted to post photos/pictures of other members of the forum without permission. This includes re-posting photos/pictures that the member themselves have already posted on the forum. When posting photographs of others such as friends or family members - please ensure that you have their permission.
3. Personal photos outside of the adult forum should not contain inappropriate content.
5. ADVERTISING
1. The advertising of other forums is prohibited. General discussion about a forum is permitted (i.e. one link to that forum); however excessive posting of links and/or promotion of other forums is not permitted.
2. Referral schemes are strictly prohibited. Posting such links will result in suspension from the site.
3. The Website is for the user's personal and non-commercial use only, and the user agrees to use the Website in a manner consistent with all applicable laws and regulations. Any account created for commercial use will be disabled immediately.
6. SPAM/OFF-TOPIC/DOUBLE POSTS
NB: Forum staff are exempt from this rule.
1. Threads created in forums other than chat threads in the lounge must adhere to that forum’s topic. This includes all posts contained within that thread. Any posts that are not relevant to the thread topic will be removed. Persistent spamming will result in disciplinary action. Replies must also be 'meaningful' and contribute to the discussion, pointless few worded posts are not accepted outside of chat threads.
2. Thread titles (Except chat threads) must be relevant to the thread content.
3. A plugin is in place to prevent doubleposting, this means that posts are merged and users may 'bump' a thread after 2 hours.
4. The Lounge forum is for talking about anything that doesn't fit elsewhere, chat/spam threads are permitted here however; any serious thread in there must remain on topic. All other threads should be posted in the appropriate forum.
7. PLUS+ MEMBERSHIP
NB: You must agree to these terms before donating and recieving Plus+.
1. Abuse of special tools will result in termination of plus membership without refund and possible suspension from the site. This includes the reversal of moderator or administrator actions.
2. You agree that plus is a donation scheme. All pertaining features are granted as a gift and are neither a product nor a service.
3. The board management reserve the right to remove special features at any time without refund if they are used to breach the forum rules in any way.
4. Plus features are subject to change at any time.
8. SIGNATURE LIMITS
Normal Members: 500x150
Plus+: 625x275
1. Both images and text must fit within the limits specified above. Moderators will remove content breaching these limits and may take further action if necessary.
2. Quotes in signatures will not be counted towards the signature limit due to their default coding on the forum, however excessive use of quotes will result in the signature being removed.
9. PERSONAL MESSAGING SERVICE
NB: Sometimes referred to as default as 'Private Messages'
1. By using this forum you accept that board management reserve the right to read, review or delete any personal message for any reason and can take action if needs be.
10. ADULT FORUM
1. The adult forum is for users who are over the age of 18 only. No user below the age of 18 may access or attempt to gain access to this forum.
2. Elements of Rule 1 regarding ‘Inappropriate Content’ are slightly relaxed in this forum with regards to nudity and sexual discussion. However; illegal content is still not permitted in this forum.
3. Information within this forum is confidential and may not be discussed outside of the adult area.
4. The board management reserve the right to restrict access to the adult forum at any time.
11. GENDER FORUMS
1. The gender forums are accessible by users with 50 posts or above (group leader discretion applies) and who have been accepted into the appropriate gender group by the group leader.
2. Information in the gender forums is confidential and must not be leaked outside of the gender forum.
3. We reserve the right to restrict your access to the gender forums at any time.
4. We will honor the basic principles behind the gender forums during day-to-day forum usage however we reserve the right to enter the forums as we deem necessary to moderate when a situation occurs.
12. MODERATION
1. The reversal of moderator actions is not permitted on the forum. If you wish to discuss a moderator’s decision, please contact them by private message or contact another member. Moderators will divert user complaints to the correct channels rather than allow open discussion in the public forum and will close such threads without notice. Persistent public threads disputing action taken by moderators or administrators may result in suspension from the site.
2. The post report feature of the forum is to allow users to alert moderators to potentially offensive material posted. Abuse or misuse of the post report tool will not be tolerated.
3. The staff team reserves the right to remove or edit any posts that breach the rules without warning.
4. It is not permitted to talk about infractions or bans which may have been issued to other members.
13. ACCOUNT SHARING
1. Account sharing is not permitted except for when purchasing plus+. Following such deals passwords must be changed immediately.
2. You are responsible for the security and proper use of your account and you will be held accountable for all activities that occur under your username. You must inform us immediately if there is any reason to believe that your username or password has become known to someone other than yourself.
14. BLOGS
1. All forum staff have the permissions to read a blog even if the permissions are set to 'friends/contacts only'
2. The rules must be upheld within blogs.
3. If a persons blog is set to 'contact/friends' only, then you must not leak out blog contents to other members.
